FIA Formula 2 headed to Sakhir, Bahrain for the final test of pre-season, before the start of the 2018 season. On the final day of the three day test, BWT Arden driver Maximilian Günther heading the standings with a 1:42.756s lap in the morning session on the last day.
The BWT Arden driver went quickest early on during the first hour of the morning session in the heat in the desert, heading Charouz Racing System’s Louis Delétraz and ART Grand Prix’s George Russell in the morning session.
The Honda Junior recovered well to set the fastest lap in the afternoon in the closing stages of the test. Fukuzumi set a 1:43.340s lap to make it a clean sweep for BWT Arden on the final day of testing, with both drivers topping a session respectively.
With testing now drawn to a close, attention now turns to the opening round of the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
The team will head back to the Sakhir International Circuit in just two weeks time, where the first two races of the season will take place on the 6-8 April.
