Frenchman Gabriel Aubry will graduate to the GP3 Series in 2018 with Arden Motorsport

Gabriel Aubry will step up to the GP3 Series with Arden Motorsport for the 2018 season.

Aubry joins Arden after a strong season with Tech 1 Racing in the Formula Renault Eurocup Championship last season. After taking 3 victories and a 8 podiums in total, on his way to a strong 5th overall in the hugely competitive junior series.

He also competed in the Formula Renault Northern European Cup Championship - where he took a brace of race wins and a trio of podium finishes, as he finished 5th overall in the Formula Renault NEC standings.

His history has seen Aubry excel in his karting career, taking victories at CIK-FIA European Championship and WSK Series level, after winning the OKJ French Championships. He would later make the step up to car racing in 2015.
Aubry took 3rd overall in the French FIA F4 Championship in 2015, before graduating to the Formula Renault Eurocup Championship in 2016.

Following his strong 2017 Formula Renault season, Aubry took part in the post Abu Dhabi test in GP3 machinery - impressing with his feedback, performance, and importantly his ability to adapt to the Dallara GP3/16 car and the notoriously tricky Pirelli tyres.

Richard Dent - Arden GP3 Team Manager “Gabi has been on our radar for some time now. He particularly had a strong season last year in Renault 2.0 and tested very well in the end of season GP3 Abu Dhabi test. He has undeniably got the ability, drive & focus to fight for the GP3 title in 2018.”
Gabriel Aubry “I am proud to integrate Arden Motorsport in the GP3 series. Arden is one of the most successful single seater teams of the last 20 years and are very motivated for 2018. This year is a clear step for me following two seasons of Formula Renault. I am joining an experienced team and I am convinced I will continue to learn a lot with them. I want to thank my long-term sponsors Van Merksteijn, Intersig, MEP as well as my new management team The Grid Agency”.

The GP3 Series begins at the Circuit de Catalunya, Spain on the 12-13 May 2018, following a trio of pre-season tests - of which Aubry and his teammates will be preparing for the new season with Arden Motorsport.
