Réunionese driver Reshad de Gerus graduates into Formula Renault Eurocup with Arden Motorsport

French F4 Vice-Champion becomes Arden's first signing ahead of the 2020 season.

Arden Motorsport are pleased to confirm Reshad de Gerus will join the team’s Formula Renault Eurocup outfit for the 2020 season.

The 16-year old Réunionese racer joins the Banbury-based outfitoff the pack of two seasons in the French F4 Championship; first in the junior category, where four class victories and 12 podiums secured the Vice-Champion honours.

He would repeat the feat in the overall championship in 2019,taking four wins – including victory at the iconic Pau Grand Prix, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and a double win at former F1 venue Magny-Cours, to end the season as runner-up.

De Gerus also represented Team France in the F4 category of theFIA Motorsport Games in Vallelunga, Italy, last autumn and that experience,combined with a thorough winter testing programme, will put him in good stead ahead of his rookie campaign in the Eurocup.

In 2020, the series will continue to visit a host of Europe’s most-renowned and challenging venues, including Monza, Silverstone,Nurburgring, Barcelona and a support slot at the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix.

Arden head into the campaign on a high after registering a third finish in the Teams’ standings in 2019, with the aim to build on that result this time around.

The season kicks off at Monza on 18-19 April, 2020.

“Last season was a promising step forward for the team and I’m confident we can continue to build on that momentum heading into 2020.

“It’s a great series and a brand-new car for me, but testing has been promising so far and I’m confident we’ll arrive at the opening round at Monza in good shape.”
