Sacha Fenestraz joins Arden International for GP3 Series run-in

Renault Sport Academy Driver Sacha Fenestraz will join the team for the final two rounds of the 2018 GP3 Series.

Renault Sport Academy Driver Sacha Fenestraz will step up to the GP3 Series with Arden International, for the final two rounds of the 2018 Championship at Sochi Autodrom and the Yas Marina Circuit for the season finale.

Sacha, the 2017 Formula Renault Eurocup Champion, joins the team following his maiden campaign in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship – where he has taken 2 pole positions and 3 podium finishes, which included victory at the opening round of the season at Pau, France.

The French-Argentine ADD Management backed driver, made his step up into single-seater racing in 2015, where he moved into the French F4 Championship – which he won after again winning early on in the season at Pau.

2016 was the first of his two seasons’ in the Formula Renault Eurocup. In his maiden season he finished 5th overall in the championship – with highlights including victory at Monaco, preceding the 2016 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.

The 2017 season saw Sacha dominate the championship with seven race victories and a record amount of podium finishes on his way to the championship title.

He finished his successful 2017 season with a maiden outing in the Macua FIA F3 World Cup, where he finished a strong 7th on debut.

Sacha Fenestraz: “First of all, I would to say a big thank you to Arden Motorsport for their confidence in the last two rounds on the calendar. As everything will be new for me, my main aim will be to learn and gather as much information as possible.
I’ve already begun preparing by finding my marks on the Sochi circuit on the simulator. I think that the most difficult thing will be managing the Pirelli tyres so I’m going to work hard on this point and try and adapt as quickly as possible.
It’s always difficult to aim for a good result when you arrive in the middle of the year. Nonetheless, I’ll do my best and I’ll seize the slightest opportunity I can. It will be an extremely interesting experience and it’ll be great to share weekends with F1 again since my wins in Monaco.”

Sacha will join Arden International for his debut in the GP3 Series at Sochi Autodrom on the 28-30 September, with him rounding out the season with the team at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi for the season finale.
