Red Bull Junior Ticktum 4th fastest in Nurburgring Collective Test

Ticktum, Goddard and Cordeel cover plenty of mileage at the final pre-season test

Red Bull Junior Driver Daniel Ticktum set the 4th fastest time of the final Formula Renault Eurocup Pre-Season Collective Test Session.

Under bright skies, Sacha Fenestraz broke the Nürburgring Formula Renault Eurocup track record in the opening hour. The Frenchman then lowered the time to 1:54.356 to pull away from Will Palmer and Max Defourny. Daniel Ticktum (Arden Motorsport) and Max Fewtrell (Tech 1 Racing), respective rookie members of the Red Bull Junior Team and Renault Sport Academy, completed the top five.

Ticktum set the fourth fastest time during the morning of the final day of testing at the Nurburgring, outlining the continuous progress of the Arden Motorsport team as they embark on their debut season in the championship.

Zane Goddard set the 6th fastest time in the afternoon, despite the conditions slowing the cars, the Aussie managed to find a better balance with his Arden machine and was happy with the final days work. Teammate Ghislain Cordeel also completed great mileage, setting nearly sixty laps during the course of the day as he further acclimatised himself with his Arden machinery.

Following the final day of testing, Red Bull Junior Dan Ticktum gave his feedback looking ahead to the season in his Red Bull media press release:

Dan Ticktum "It was a great start to the year, I was pretty much always in top five, I would say I was consistently highest out of the good drivers and it was all very positive. I don't want to make too much of that and I am going to stay open minded, not build up the expectations too much for this weekend but it should be good.
We are running at great tracks this year, just about all of them and Monza is a fantastic place to start. I don't have any concerns going into practice, I've got a great team around me, quickly had a very good rapport with my engineer so I think we can sort through anything we need to."

The season opener for the Formula Renault Eurocup kicks off on the 22-23 April at the Autodromo di Monza, where the Arden FR2.0 trio will get their first taste of the competition and Arden Motorsport will make their debut in the championship.
