Tommy Foster confirmed at Arden for 2019 British F4 Championship

Arden Motorsport have confirmed Tommy Foster as the third driver in their 2019 British F4 line-up.

Arden have confirmed Tommy Foster as the third driver in their 2019 British F4 line-up. Tommy joins the British F4 grid after a very successful karting career and impressive cameo performance in FF1600 at the end of last year.

Tommy, 16, has won multiple British Championships during his karting career. The talented young Cornishman made his single-seater debut in the BRSCC FF1600 Championship at the end of 2018, winning at Anglesey in only his third single-seater race weekend.

He becomes another member of the Arden affiliated Young Racing Driver’s Academy (YRDA) to progress from the ranks of karting into the Arden British F4 team. As part of his YRDA preparations, Tommy has undertaken extensive single-seater testing, simulator and human performance training programmes, which helped him to secure a race seat with the defending British F4 Team Champions.

Tommy has been a regular front runner in karting at British Championship level. During a trophy laden season in 2017, Tommy won the Rotax Festival and went on to represent Great Britain at the Rotax World Finals (World Championship Event) where he secured pole position eclipsing talented drivers from across the globe.

In 2018, Tommy competing as a rookie in the Senior Rotax Championship, won the English Championship at his first race weekend. He had previously won the Junior Rotax British Open Championship in August 2017, making him the first driver to hold both titles simultaneously.

The Cornish flyer went on to win the British Open Championship in Senior Rotax making him the first driver to hold the Junior and Senior Open titles at the same time!

He now moves on to compete in the British F4 Championship and joins teammates Alex Connor and Bart Horsten at Arden for pre-season testing, as the build up to the season opener at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit, on the 6-7 April continues.

Tommy Foster, 2019 Arden British F4 Driver: “I am delighted to have graduated from karting with the Arden team. I know them very well from my time with the YRDA and am looking forward to enjoying maiden season success in the F4 with them and relish the challenge ahead.”
Garry Horner, Arden Team Principal: “We have been monitoring Tommy’s progress for some time and following on from his glittering karting career have been very impressed with his pace and professionalism in testing. We look forward to seeing him carrying this form into the 2019 F4 Championship as an Arden driver.”
